Minnesota Company to Showcase Products at 'Try Before You Buy'
Abilities Expo for Persons with Disabilities

AbleNet Inc., has confirmed a booth at the Abilities Expo to be held September 7- 9 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. AbleNet, an industry leader in providing products for persons with disabilities, will showcase "Flip," a user-friendly automatic page turner; its new line of computer access tools, dubbed "Roll," "Rock" and "Cruise;" "Lingo," a brand new messaging device currently in the prototype stage; two of its proven communication devices, specifically SuperTalker and Step-by-Step; the company’s bestselling switches for adapting toys, electronics and appliances, as well its switch mounting systems.

St. Paul, MN (August 27, 2007) - AbleNet Inc., www.ablenetinc.com, a Roseville-based company with a global reach will showcase a variety of products, specifically designed for persons with disabilities, at the Abilities Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Unlike most tradeshows, the Abilities Expo is not just open to the public, it's for the public, and is an excellent place to see, test and compare the latest independent and assisted living products.

For more than 20 years, AbleNet has been creating easy-to-use assistive technology products and educational programs that empower people with complex physical and cognitive disabilities. Over the years, the company has expanded its product offerings to meet the needs of adults and children of all abilities at home, at work, at school and every place in between. At the Abilities Expo, AbleNet will showcase "Flip," the company's innovative automatic page turner that allows users to move through the pages of magazines, paperbacks and hardcover books at the push of a button or switch.

The company will also unveil its new line of computer access tools, including "Wireless Roll" and "Roll," two versions of an oversized trackball device specifically designed for persons with limited hand control, motor skill difficulty and hand-eye coordination challenges. The company will also introduce "Rock," a mouse alternative that comes with three interchangeable joystick handles, including a straight stem, a t-bar and a large softball, and "Cruise," a new breed of mouse that requires no hand or wrist movement whatsoever, instead, users control the speed and direction of the cursor with a single, soft touch of a control ring.

Adults and children who are unable to, or aren't comfortable with using their voices to communicate, will find several of AbleNet's tried and true communication devices. The 'SuperTalker' progressive communicator can be used as a single, two, four, or eight-message voice output device with eight levels of messaging capability, making it the perfect choice for beginning and intermediate users. The company's popular Step-by-Step communicators will also be on display at the show. These small and infinitely portable personal communication devices offer 75-seconds of recording time that can be divided into as many messages as users need to progressively step through recipes, grocery lists, directions, short social scripts and more. AbleNet will also provide a sneak peek at "Lingo," a brand new wearable messaging aid currently in development.

And finally, AbleNet will showcase it's full line of switches, including it's new wireless Jelly Beamer. AbleNet switches, for those who aren't familiar with them, are used to adapt any battery-operated or electrical device, including toys, personal electronics and small appliances for switch activation, a simple, yet truly meaningful advance that has allowed thousands of adults and children to actively engage in a variety of activities. To make switch activated devices even more accessible the company also offers truly unique switch mounting systems for wheelchairs, desks and more.

"Because no two people are alike, there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, that's why it's critical to have a venue like the Abilities Expo where people of all abilities can see and try everything under one roof. Family members, professional caregivers, and persons for whom independent and assisted living products are intended, are always looking for products and services that make all aspects of life fun, interesting and accessible, and we encourage everyone to stop by the AbleNet booth to give our products a try," said Pamela Donahue, AbleNet Director of Marketing.
