AbleNet Inc., Approved for National Seating & Mobility Supplier Alliance Program

AbleNet becomes an approved partner and supplier to National Seating & Mobility (NSM). Membership in the NSM Supplier Alliance Program provides the company's clients and caregivers with access to AbleNet's full line of wheelchair mountable assistive technologies and other products designed to enhance the lives of people with disabilities.

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) October 15, 2007 -AbleNet Inc., a world leader in assistive technology products for persons with disabilities, today announced its membership in the National Seating & Mobility (NSM) Supplier Alliance Program.

NSM serves as a value-added partner to healthcare providers in the process of identifying and securing the most appropriate seating and mobility equipment for their patients. Rather than providing off-the-shelve solutions, NSM provides customized wheelchairs and seating systems that meet the unique therapeutic and lifestyle requirements of each patient. As a partner to NSM, AbleNet joins a growing number of prestigious suppliers specifically chosen for their expertise in providing products and services that support individuals with permanent or long-term loss of mobility.

"National Seating & Mobility was founded on the creation of a culture where care reigns supreme, a philosophy that resonates with the founders and employee-owners of AbleNet," said AbleNet CEO Jen Thalhuber. "We are truly honored to be an approved partner and supplier to NSM, and look forward to serving the unique needs of their clients by providing wheelchair mountable assistive technologies solutions."

Since its first year of operation, NSM has grown from five offices to a network of facilities providing rehabilitation seating services all across North American. NSM offices are staffed by senior professional Certified Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (CRTS). These individuals are certified by the National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers and must pass a credentialing examination administered by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Each CRTS has ten or more years of experience evaluating severely physically challenged individuals and designing appropriate seating and mobility systems for them.

"NSM's wheelchairs and seating systems function as an extension of an individual's body, and it is imperative that our partner's products function in much the same manner. AbleNet's assistive technologies solutions and wheelchair mounting systems meet that objective," said Bill Noelting, VP of Supplier Alliances for National Seating & Mobility. "The partnership between NSM and AbleNet will allow our Certified Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers to recommend AbleNet-specific assistive technologies to healthcare professionals, caregivers and clients as an enhancement to our continuum of care."
