Ann Meyer Receives "Above and Beyond Award"

St. Paul, MN, December 3, 2007 - On October 23, 2007, Ann Meyer, Director of Research and Development at AbleNet, Inc. was recognized with an "Above and Beyond Award" presented by Metro Educational Cooperative Service Unit (ECSU), a regional service cooperative serving over 40 school districts and other affiliate members in Minnesota.

Now in its fourth year, the "Above and Beyond Award" recognizes educators who have contributed to Metro ECSU through their participation or exceptional support to the program.

The Metro ESCU selected Meyer for the award in particular for her work with the program to improve access to learning for students with disabilities; especially those with significant/severe-profound disabilities. Meyer was recognized at the Metro ECSU's annual meeting with three other recipients; the School Improvement Program, the Special Education Program and the Success Beyond the Classroom Student Program.

"Ann is an invaluable resource to the field of education, especially special education. Her passion and energy for students with severe-profound disabilities is evident in her dedication to her work with educators across the region and state," said Ingrid Aasan-Reed, Director of Special Education with the Minnesota Low Incidence Projects at Metro ECSU.

"In addition to contributing to the success of AbleNet, we are proud of the support Ann provides to the community. Her work to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities has a positive impact on students, their families and the educators who work with them," said Jen Thalhuber, CEO of AbleNet.
